Hello, it's been a while since my last update, mainly because I've been enjoying a nice break. I arrived home on the night of December 14. Since then I've spent most of my time kicking back and relaxing, the first time I've been able to do this for quite some time, where I basically just sit around. Last summer this generally didn't happen since I went to work every day at the beach. I would take advantage of my days off to do fun things.
I'm always thinking during these resting times though, and the upcoming album is first and foremost in my mind. It's great because now there's nothing else to distract me. Over the past few weeks I have really put things together and now all I have to do is record for the most part. My new condenser mic will assist in that. Tyler, Cory, and I also went to Guitar Center today and picked up a synthesizer. Some of the sounds are cool and I might experiment with it, but it's not generally my style. I'm rather organic in the way I like to make music. Tyler and Cory bought it because they're more interested in using it.
Anyway, recording will likely begin tomorrow, so I'll be back in the swing of things although I'm looking forward to the upcoming ski trip. I figure in January if I develop a regular sleep schedule again I can get a lot done. Tyler has school then, so I'll maybe get him to do a drum track at night and work all the next day on the song's completion, without any other concerns.
I am now officially signed up for lifeguard training at URI in February, where I will enjoy a week here during the regular semester. I'm really psyched about the fun I'll have this summer if I'm a lifeguard. The money I make should also assure me a trip to Europe.
I had a bunch of political notes written down that I wanted to discuss, but I have forgotten really where I was going with them. Since returning home I have lost track of a lot of the current things going on, aside from the big headlines. One that I had that I still remember is that I want to voice my support of a program of vouchers so parents can choose where to send their students to school. This is based on a John Stossel program where he showed how a lot of public schools weren't properly educating students and the opinion that a choice should be available as to how to educate your child.
The holdiday season is going alright. It's nice and warm, with no snow. I like that. I hope everyone else is also doing alright.
