Matt In Brief:

  • Today was "old age" day in Makeup class, so I made myself out to be Oedipus (at Colonus). I wasn't satisfied by any means, mostly because she didn't explain wrinkles to the guys, only the girls. And considering there were only 3 guys today - the guy who had already taken the class, the handicapped guy, and me - I'm not that surprised. Anyway, I'm probably going to redo it at some point.
  • Read Nocturne again today. Pyles likes the piece a lot, as do I. It's realy dark and brooding, like the Hungarians. "They're Hungary...for action!"
  • Started to write the synopsis of my Life and Death play chess one-act. I'm just not motivated enough.
  • Math is boring. I already know everything.
  • Spanish is boring. I already know everything.
  • In Voice, we're singing a new Baroque piece that sounds pretty cool. And unlike "Caro mio ben", I actually can stay in the same octave through the whole piece.
  • Speaking of, I sang the B today when walking home from Algebra listening to "Phantom of the Opera".
  • I had forgotten about Phantom, and I got a kick out it. I had forgotten about the part in the title song when Michael Crawford comes in higher than Sarah Brightman. That was good stuff.
  • I'm adored! Oh, and I'll have the recordings in .mp3 tomorrow for you.
  • I'm recording myself playing the ragas I'm coming up with. They're really enjoyable to play. The only problem is the whole set of recordings is in D. Perhaps I'll go up a half step, but I much prefer the sound of the open D chord. It sounds the best.
  • Watched "Rock N' Roll Circus" during my break between Makeup and Algebra. Highlights include:
  1. The Who doing "Ivan" and Keith Moon pouring water of the drums so it splashed up when he pounded them into drum-blivion
  2. The Stones doing "You Can't Always Get What You Want" and "Jumping Jack Flash"
  3. The Dirty Mac (John Lennon on guitar and vocals, Keith Richards on bass, Eric Clapton on lead, and Mitch Mitchell on drums) doing "Yer Blues" (PURE FUH-REAKIN' AWESOMENESS) and "Oh Yoko", which unfortunately the witch herself (who was ironically dressed in a witch costume, hat and all) participated in.
  4. The big group sing-along of "Sods of the Earth" lead by Keith and Mick.
