Host Mom: all you do is change the channel. Try to see if it's something good before you turn from it.
dad: oh, ok you can change the Channel then.
mom: no, I don't want to have to turn.

I like me family so much.
So it's Chinese New Year and that means decorations on everyone's doors and obsessive cleaning of the house before the New year. It's the most important holiday of the year. What concerns me is that there is not one decoration to be seen in my home, not even the upside down character for luck on my door. "So, maybe they aren't the decorating type, whats the big deal" you might be thinking to yourself. Well, if you'd seen the show they put on for Chirstmas you'd change your mind. They had the wreath on the door, the Christmas tree with presents, they went at it all the way. Chinese people don't celebrate Christmas though. Markisha and Liz say my family is westernized. And while I do agree with that to some degree (they like their croissants in the morning and driving around in their Audi) I'm not too worried about it because they still like watching their awful Chinese soap opera's and singing in that very distinct Chinese fashion.
Midnight on Chinese Newyear was amazing, the only way I can discribe it is to say it would be like everyone in the deciding that On the Fourth of July at the same time they would set off their fireworks...it's an awful noise. Awful being a good thing
