Just finished Dragon Age. Incredible. 9/10--the game is plagued by bugs. I think Dragon Age will become the second big RPG pillar, alongside Final Fantasy. Oh, and it was too short. I spent 61 hours and 40 minutes to beat the game, without doing all of the extra stuff. I know 61 hours doesn't SOUND short, but it definitely is short when you're having so much fun, and when you don't want to let go of a world or its characters.
It's not what I would call a flashy game. The story is subtle, simple, and genius--but the world's history is extremely rich, and you can read into it as much as you want to. The gameplay is the best in any RPG I've ever played, but it does have its inconveniences and quirks. The music is excellent, and while the graphics quality won't shock you, the map designs will. It's the characters that really shine in Dragon Age. By the middle of the game, you'll feel like the characters are real friends (or real enemies) that you've known for a long time. The replayability is massive, as you can't go ten minutes without making a decision that will alter Dragon Age's world forever.
But seriously it was too short. I am going to be depressed for the next couple of days. And no, I wasn't able to seduce Alistair. I wasn't able to seduce anyone, actually; I ended up racing to the end of the game because I wanted to know what would happen.
There were two very specific events in the game that made me think, "What the FUCK?" Silent Hill and other horror media doesn't have shit on Dragon Age; there is some genuinely fucked up shit going on in this game. It wasn't scary, it was just.. very off-putting.
Also, THE most immersive game I have ever played.
