So, a few days early we are opening stockings. One reason why we are opening stockings now is the fact that we will be gone to visit some relatives and my mom wanted to have a Christmas with us too. We opened presents yesterday and I am pretty happy with what I was given.
That saying, stockings are always my favorite thing to open. We always are given an orange because of Little House on the Prairie, who were so thankful for getting a penny, an orange, and a piece of candy. It's supposed to remind us how much we have and that we have enough to be happy with.
We are also given something for the day when Jesus was born. I don't think many Christian families do this, but we are given something to represent frankincense, gold, myrrh. (I had to look up how those were spelled...) Usually we have chocolate in gold coins to represent gold, frankincense this year was hand-sanitizer, and myrrh was body lotion or chap stick. It's a tradition for all of our Christmases, but it's one that is a bit different from everything else. We also are usually given a gift just for us, something based off of our favorite candy or treat. I was given pistachios nuts. ;)
One of the presents we were given was a little audiobot that could play music. It's super cute!
Here's a picture!
Err...this is an image that was taken from Google, I didn't take it. The one I did take wouldn't let me upload or I am an idiot who couldn't figure it out. *scratches head* I'm really hoping it's the first one. And the plug is at the wrong side, it's supposed to come out of it's butt! Grrr...
Anyway, this was in our stocking and in it super cute! While I was opening my stocking with the rest of us, and it really isn't as much fun as when we were kids, it was fun having my mom there with us. She usually just let us open it without being there, so it was fun hearing the explanation for each gift.
So, Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! I hope you guys are enjoying spending it with your family and spoiling your children/nephews/nieces! Pray that we survive the visit to my relatives! And excuse the grammar please, I am just now drinking my first cup of coffee for the day.
