. . . and the show was a smashing success. I'm still a little jazzed from performing for a real live crowd.
Naturally, the band is now going on hiatus for at least a few weeks while the bass player's wife has her next baby--and it won't be long after that that the guitar player's wife follows suit. With this level of fecundity in the band, I don't know how we're ever going to book a bar gig (which is the next step). But we've communicated back and forth today about what worked and what didn't, what we need to take away and what we should add to the set list, and how to stay fresh on a severely limited practice schedule.
For my part, I think that means more karaoke nights (to stay in the habit of singing) and some time set aside for the formal practice of my harmonica skills (which is also setting a good example for the boy, who has just started learning the flute).
Soundtrack from my morning walk
I had quite a brisk walk today, since I chose to wear shorts on a very chilly morning. But once I got into full stride, it didn't feel terribly cold.

"Best & Greatest" Burndown Counter
There are just 25 songs in the list that haven't played yet . . . but a few have re-appeared, since 60 days have now elapsed from the time I put the list together. If I don't get through them today, the numbers are likely to jump back up a bit tomorrow.
Quote of the Day
I think that God in creating Man somewhat overestimated his ability.
