We Cut Three Songs That Just Won't Be Ready

Aug 24, 2007 16:16

Last night was "do or die" night for songs on the party set list, and 3 songs that we've been working on will not be featured. The bass player pointed out that we were spending a disproportionate amount of the scant practice time remaining to us working on a couple of songs that aren't ready, when we could be better served polishing up many more of the songs that are pretty good but could be great with just a little more work. That leaves us a comfortable 50 songs to fill an evening of music.

If we have to play "867-5309 (Jenny)" twice, it won't kill anyone.
So I Got Home Ungodly Late Last Night

I did not take a walk this morning. My intentions are still good . . . the weather is absolutely gorgeous, and an evening walk sounds like just the ticket right now. I'd hate to break the string, which currently stands at 14 consecutive days.

I also need to not get a milkshake at White Castle on the way home from practice. I love 'em, but they wreak havoc with my digestive system for at least a day afterwards. (I'm lactose intolerant, but still in a bit of denial when faced with a yummy treat. Especially in the wee small hours after a long hard day.)
"Best & Greatest" Burndown Counter

There are still 573 songs in the list that haven't had a turn.
