What I do, where I do it, and with whom is none of anyone's business. If I choose to share information with someone on a one-on-one basis, then I would trust that person to keep it to him/herself and not spread it around creation. When I hear information that I have shared with only one other person being told back to me by someone else, then I know the truth of the matter. The honesty and integrity of the character is put to question. It matters not if I have not been around, the information was not to be shared to anyone, as I have never shared information told to me in confidence. And to compound the matter is the fact that not all of the information was correct, and so that incorrect information affects someone else, who now has to wonder about his/her privacy as well.
