Here it is the forth of july, the day we celebrate our freedoms,.. Yeah. here is my Rant:
in the days of "Homeland Security" in the name of "protecting out safety" the disarming of the citizenry is seen as a paramount to keeping america "safe" from terrorist.
the 14 words on the second half of the second amendment is quite telling"
"The Right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed."
Democracy is when the government fears the people; Tyranny is where the people fear the government.
I've heard it said "When Guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns" I ask, What does that make the police?
these same people say "the police will protect you from criminals" Yeah, who will protect you from the Police?
don't get me wrong, i'm dam glad of the freedoms we enjoy here in the U.S but i am alarmed at the perception that safety comes from government and some folks are more than willing to give up liberty for perceived "safety"
The founding fathers knew that an armed society was a polite society, and criticle to keeping the governing body from oversteping it's bounds.
Okay, that's it for now, (steps off soapbox) who wants some bar-b-que? We've got cold beer, soda and other things for those who want them
coals are ready, lets get grilling.
Happy 4th of July folks! welcome to the Party.
