[Thor finds the package on the doorstep on his way out the door in the morning, lying innocuously enough beside the recently-reappeared stoop. Instantly thoughts of getting to work on time leave his mind, and he bends to pick it up, a fierce smile breaking

[Marisa looks over the fence, twirling a sealed envelope in her fingers.]

So... you don't have your divine strength back enough to pick it up or is it you don't have your actual godhood back, so it's refusing you as its master?

[richtighammer]

[...Neither of these are things that had occurred to Thor. He assumed it was just a trick of Mayfield's. He looks up quickly when Marisa speaks and glowers at her, turning her words over in his mind.

In lieu of greeting, he growls at her:]

And how did you come to know so much about it?

I read. Books on Norse mythology aren't terribly hard to come across. [except here]

[Now is not the time to quibble over the word mythology. Thor eyes the hammer balefully.]

Mjolnir is a mighty weapon, without equal in any of the nine realms. Why should Mayfield return it to me only to mock me with it?

[adropofjupiter]

[Oh, she knows gods are real, but the books are only partly right making them still mythology.]

Because this place sucks. I don't even want to know what they gave me for all that... [Holds up her unopened envelope.]

[richtighammer]

[He looks at it with deep mistrust.]

Best, perhaps, not to accept Mayfield's gifts. They are nothing but lies and mockery.
