So we went to the Chargers/Raiders game this afternoon. It was pretty cool, the place was packed, it seemed like everyone in california was there. Except of course, the Raiders. All disappointment aside it was a pretty cool day. It sucks that my team lost, but they can't win em all right? I'm just glad I got to commune with thousands of other people while watching over exercised meatheads beat the crap out of eachother over pig flesh. And now as the day it winds it's way down I find myself pondering the great mystery that is existence in all its wierdness.
For instance I was talking with a friend the other day and we were on the subject of getting songs stuck in your head, or having songs in your head. And I asked her this "Have you ever been thinking of a song and hearing it in your head only to turn on the radio and that very song is playing." Her reply was yes, many who had overheard the question also said yes. Does this strike anyone else as being weird? Even a little creepy? And when you think about it, how much do we really know about the human brain. I mean we really only use what, ten percent of it tops? Ten percent!!! That's like, one slice of a medium pizza, which leaves all these slices just waiting to be eaten.
Could the rest of our brain be connected to things like the afformentioned psychic music? Could the uncharted regions of our mind be the cause for yawning being contagious? And has anyone else ever stopped to think about the sheer power posessed by one's own imagination? In your head you can picture just about anything you've ever seen, and even some things you've never seen. How many of you have dreamed about people you've never even seen before? I know i have.
Furthermore, has anyone else gained more control over their dreams as they've grown older? I remember when i was a kid I would always try to fly in dreams, but it'd only work half the time, or when it did I would go really slow. But now that I'm older i find that in dreams i'm able to do whatever I want with relative ease. What kind of power waits to be unlocked in that extra 90 percent of our brain? Will we ever eat those 9 other slices of pizza?
And why IS yawning contagious?!?!?!?
