Christmas 2007...

...was very different for me.

December 24th started with brunch in Sarabeth's with Gerald, Mike and Terrence, who was visiting from LA. Since it was a nice day weather-wise, I wanted to take the Circle Line ferry which just goes round and round (hence the name), but I was outvoted. We ended up going to the Museum of Natural History to look at dinosaur bones and life in Asia. The Chinese section reminded me of our living room in our old house.

Christmas Eve dinner was with Brother and his friends at Del Posto (http://www.delposto.com/home.htm), a Mario Batali restaurant in Chelsea. Food was great, but my dessert sucked. Don't ever order the panini chocolate. It's just bread with chocolate. As in 'tasty' bread with chocolate. Ugh. But again, the food was great. I can still remember the Pork Saltimbocca that I ordered, which was pork skewers cooked with lentils and drizzled with dijon mustard. We ended dinner at around 1215am, thankfully. We were afraid we'd be passing midnight on the subway.

Christmas Day started with me and Terrence looking for a restaurant that was open around campus. The only ones that were open are the Asian ones and this Cuban restaurant on 125th. So we ate there, because I wasn't really in the mood to have Chinese food in Harlem. We walked around Harlem too and ended up having dessert at Thai Market. The ginger ice cream was yummy!

I then saw Juno with Brother and Karen. Nice movie. Well-written and very touching. If I were in Manila, I would be seeing Mano Po with family, because there's always one during the MMFF. And it gets progressively worse every year.

Overall, a very stress-free Christmas. I wonder what New Year's Day holds.
