Now I know the difference between a firm, plush, and pillowtop mattress.
Who would have thought buying a mattress could be sooooo stressful? I never knew that there were so many choices. This is the first time I'm buying a bed. All the beds I've slept on-- someone else chose for me.
So yesterday, I went bed hunting. I visited three showrooms, and took a
high-tech test (see it here), which showed that I should go for a plush bed.
The mattress set me back by 750 bucks, but the kind salesman offered free delivery, installation, a boxspring, a bedframe, and a mattress protector after I told him about my sob story ("I'm a penniless student from the Third World"). I'm sure he gives it to everyone, but I enjoy the drama.
Now I'm off to buy an aircon, and contemplating whether I have the powers to install it myself. Installation and delivery here in the States costs almost the same as the actual unit itself, and everyone tells me it's easy to self-install.
I'm just scared that it will fall off my apartment window. Since I'm staying in student housing, there's a big chance that it'll fall on some penniless student from the Third World.
Now THAT would be dramatic.
