I learned something new

Carrageenan is a thickening agent commonly found in vegan alternatives to dairy products. It's found in soy milk, vegan deserts and cheeses, etc. It sounds very natural and wholesome: it's an extract from seaweed! Today I learned that Carrageenan is inflammatory and can cause serious damage to the digestive system. It's even suspected of being a carcinogen. It's "natural" kind of like high-fructose corn syrup is "natural"- not at all.

Welcome to my banned list, Carrageenan.
