the sun
drags across the spread
of sky, red-bellied. in its wake,
we are giants stretching over
the world. disproportionate,
our limbs unfurl. my shadow
meanders: a wrist, clavicle, lips -
fear to linger. blushing,
they pretend to pick
immaterial
oleander.
the moon
reduces us to faint
outlines, and I have
replaced mine with
myself. a knot of lovers
in half-light, we tie
flowers in your hair.
