i'm beginning to think that the guy who tried to hold us up was a decoy. the couple walking behind us was being trailed by two other guys. when they saw that we were in the process of being "held up" they would have stopped walking in fear of the event spilling over to them. that would have made it easier for the two trailing them to hold them up as well. we weren't running when i broke free from the guy, just walking fast. i don't think those are grounds for the guy to give up if he had been serious. although i didn't look back at once i'm pretty sure he didn't even try to catch us. hmmm
