Goodwill

Our expensive coffee maker decided to brew the coffee and then hold it hostage last week. The last thing I feel like doing first thing in the morning is fighting with a small appliance to supply me with the brew of life. I currently have a new coffee tank on the way from Hamilton Beach for free, but we needed something to handle our caffeine needs in the mean time. To Goodwill we go.

I hadn't yet been to the Goodwill by our new house. I knew what to expect from the one in Hastings. While it was fairly new, it lacked organization, and was usually untidy. Our new local store is INCREDIBLE! They had tons of stuff that was clearly labeled, clearly sorted by sizes, hung up, and the shelves were neat and stacked and like things were grouped together. Dan found our stand-in coffee pot for $6.99, and I got a bunch of other stuff including:

2 pairs of shorts for me
2 jean skirts
a new sweater
a new top
2 books for Jackson
3 pairs of shorts for Jackson
2 shirts for Dan

All for $30. *angels sing*

I love me some bargains.
I also used my store credit at Hopscotch to purchase a Sophie the Giraffe for Jackson. Really hoping he likes it so that if Dan ever finds out how much it would have cost retail he won't chop my head off and serve it for dinner. Yikes!

Hey, I figure that with the money we saved at Goodwill, I deserved to buy Jackson something extravagant and useless. I've been thinking about getting Sophie for over a year. I consider it his 18 month birthday present. :D
