Lent comes in spring

"Lent comes in spring
And spring is full of gladness
The sweetest flowers ...."

Does anyone know that Lenten carol? I wish I could find it. The words aren't up to much, but I love the bell-ringing phrasing.
Rosemary is well in bloom, so is the heathery stuff, and there will be a huge carpet of celandines soon.
Daffodils in sheltered places are begining to show yellow cracks. They weren't this far on last year, when the snow arrived during the last couple of days of February.

I went with Owner of Three Computers to Caernarvon. She is feeling anniversary sadness for DDM2, who was a most remarkable scion of a grand old family that includes several clergymen and actors.
Caernarvon was beautifully springlike. There was a strong sailing breeze, but the temperature was mild. We ate an excellent lunch, and even thought about eating it out of doors, but didn't.
We had feared that the town would be crowded with end of half-termers, but they had all gone home to lunch.
It began to rain as we caught the Llandudno bus around 3 p.m.
Six nations tomorrow, and Rosemary and Thyme all day.
