OK, enough is enough. Why don’t the people behind the Oscars come out and admit that they hate Jim Carrey. I don’t know why they hate him but I think it’s now obviously clear that they do. He deserved a nomination for “The Truman Show”. Nothing. He deserved a nomination for “Man On The Moon”. Nothing. Some people went so far as to say he deserved a nomination for “The Grinch. Nothing. Why can’t the board forget who is playing the role and give out their awards for the performance itself? Ever since 1998, when Jim was denied his nomination for “The Truman Show”, I’ve snubbed the Oscars but the nominations this year have fed my anger once more. “Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind” wasn’t my sort of movie. To be quite frank, I didn’t like it but the majority of the cinema-going public loved it and it has become one of Jim’s most popular movies. Surely this year then? No. Nothing. Yet Kate Winslet has received her nomination for “Best Actress In A Leading Role” What the Oscar board have done this year is snubbed Jim yet again and to drive more nails into his Academy Awards coffin, have decided to elevate Winslet into a lead role (hence the nomination) when during its cinematic release, she was billed alongside Elijah Wood and Kirsten Dunst in support roles. It just doesn’t make any logical sense. It seems they’re doing all they can to disappoint Jim who has been in need of some praise and credit for years. Cruel arseholes.
