Looking at the
singles chart this week, I can see that while it's a great week for Client and Long-View (going in at 22 and 32 respectively), it's an awful week for Minnie Driver who only managed to enter the chart at number 68. :(
"Invisible Girl" is a wonderful song but obviously:
(a) People don't like it
(b) It wasn't advertised well enough
(c) People think she's trying to break into the music scene off the back of her acting career which couldn't be further from the truth as she wanted to be a singer well before her acting career took off.
(d) With no new tracks on the single (both tracks are on the album), people did not see the need to purchase it.
Because I'm a huge fan of Minnie, I bought it even though I have the album. Whatever the reason is for it not charting well, I'm feeling ever so sorry for her. Her smile and dimples need to be seen, not hidden away. :(
