It's a good job I ended up in the HMV on Birmingham High Street two days ago!
I only went in there to have a look at the singles and to buy the new efforts from
Client and
Minnie Driver and I discovered that
Long-view (no longer Longview as there is already an American band out there with that name) also have a new single out. If that wasn't good enough, they are also appearing at HMV to do a free set and sign copies of the single at 5pm tonight!
What I can't believe is the lack of publicity for it though. I spotted a few left over leaflets on the counter of the top floor level to find out about it but there are no posters at the main entrance of the store to promote it and there was nothing in the Metro listings this morning. Strange.
Anyways, I'll head over later to enjoy the set and hopefully get my album insert signed as well as the single. I won't hold out much hope though because I know what the security guards have been like at past signings! All being well, I'll be seeing
"White Noise" with
purplekelly and
duracell tonight too. I hate scary movies but Michael Keaton's latest movie has been a long time coming. Here's hoping it's not that bad...
