This morning has been quite an eventful one and it's not even 10am!
At around 7:20am, I was happily sitting in the mid section of the bus into town, listening to the mighty Veils on my discman, when something happened that was so gross I can't even go into it in full detail. Let's just say the bus was going up a slight incline and a large stream of fluid ran from the front of the bus (where a kid, on his way to school was sitting with his mother), down the aisle of the bus and then back towards the front of the bus streaming towards the left hand side, as we levelled on to straight road. It missed my feet by about 4 inches. I thought the lad had spilt some drink or something. Not the case I'm afraid. We all watched aghast as the mother wiped her son's mouth and then ripped up a Metro newspaper to put it on the floor by where they were sitting to cover up what her son had just created. :S She totally ignored the stream of liquid up the other end of the bus though and the driver didn't do anything. We got into town and just as we arrived with residue on the bus floor, the bus left town in exactly the same way. Some people really don't have a clue. :(
I then witnessed something else I couldn't believe that also involved a young child but nothing as gross as my bus journey. I was in town and a young girl, waiting for a bus with her mom, was singing the popular Christmas carol "We Three Kings". It actually sounded sweet and I even found myself singing along with her as I passed. Her mother however (a Chav, naturally) moaned at her, grabbed her and told her to "shut the hell up". I felt so sorry for the kid. I mean, how the hell is she expected to enjoy the festive period when her mother obviously hasn't got one iota of Christmas spirit in her? I'm starting to believe that the sub-plot of "Elf" is based on true events. :(
Note: If you want to do Christmas shopping but can't stand the festive songs (Paul McCartney, Slade, Wizzard et al), come to Birmingham. Obviously, those of us celebrating Christmas cannot be offending those who don't, so as well as the absence of Santa Clauses in and around the stores, they are also refusing to play the Christmas songs too. It's so pathetic, it's true. Yes, the sub-plot of "Elf" is definitely based on true events. I'm convinced now. :(
