The Return.

Wow. So it's been a long time since i checked the ol' LJ.
Guess i've been finding other outlets to rant. Twitter's good, something about how concise it allows my rants to be. I like that.

My attempt at trying to survive by becoming a screenwriter is...working, you could say. I've sold a couple of things to the uni. I'm part of the system now! Hooray! Not sure whether that makes me want to vomit violently or jump for joy. But, it's paying my rent, keeping me fed and in supplies of Sailor Jerry, Gin, Talisker etc etc.

I went to the tuition fee protest. Ruined once again, by clueless fucking idiots who have no idea why they're there other than to cause upset. Honestly, the moment you direct your anger to a particular person or organisation, you will focus it and it will become physical. Blame the system, blame the bureaucracy. The system is rotten to the core and has been for years. It has no more to do with Party politics than it has to do with Jam sales in the last quarter. No.
Me and about 15 other arts students went down to Whitehall, and we sat.
We were asked to move by the police once. We politely refused.
We were asked to move a second time, this time they did not say please. We politely refused.
We were told to move a third time, this time threatened. We politely refused.
When they asked us to move a fourth time, they came with 5 additional officers and ordered us to move. After politely refusing again, we suggested they head off down the road and actually stop people from being hurt.

We did not swear. We were polite. We did not move and above all, we did nothing to disrupt the capital. Yet we were hounded, constantly.

This is how you protest people. You make a point. You state your case and ask that it be heard. The moment you use violence to get that message heard is the moment people stop listening.
