HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!
oh, and happy samhain to some of you...
today we celebrate the birth of candy... and again, on this day, many many years ago, the coming together of candy and the all mighty pumpkin
on a cold, dark october 31st (i think it was a tuesday), a pumpkin was wandering along a path in the forest when it came across some candy.... it ate the candy and for an inexplicable reason, the pumpkin lost all it's goo and carved itself a face.... and on that day, halloween was born....
.... the people of the village remembered that day, and on every october 31st they gave away candy and horribly butchered their supply of pumpkins...a truly barbaric ritual, still followed to this day... but as time progressed, the pumpkins became smarter, so in later years the people adapted the new technique of dressing up to both fool and scare the pumpkins into submission... we are a smart people
i urge you all to go out tonight, dressed up in the best costume you can find, and to find as much candy as humanly possible, but on your journey, stop to admire those beautiful pumpkins that traded their lives, just for your simple joys....
