This'n'That

There's not a whole lot one can do when mother nature refuses to stop dropping rain upon us except perhaps to remain indoors and attempt to be productive there. Although despite the insufferable weather we did manage to get out for a brief period of time.

First stop was over at Piedmont Park, which had an arts festival going on. The 2013 Piedmont Park Summer Arts & Crafts Festival is a 2-day outdoor event with an emphasis on the visual arts and family fun presented by the Atlanta Foundation for Public Spaces, for people of all ages, races, customs and interests. This event featured up to 250 painters, photographers, sculptors, leather and metalwork, glass blowers, jewelers and crafters! The Festival will also offer artist demonstrations, live acoustic music, a Street Market, children's play area plus festival foods and beverages with healthy alternatives.

The rain put a damper on most of the festivities, though, but a good number of people came out even so from what I can gather. We made our round and then took off empty handed.

Lunch was next on the agenda and at first we'd thought about trying Wings 101, which appears to be a local-offshoot of SmashBurger; however, we were tantalized by Taco Mac instead, so we ended up there - in the middle of Manchester United's win over Swansea 4-1. In either case we had a great lunch of mild boneless wings (with ranch, yum!), a burrito for Nicole and a taco salad for myself.

Then we returned home. Nicole will be off to work soon enough and as for me? I dunno what I'm going to do with the rest of the day...
