halloween doesn't really translate well across cultures

i missed halloween. for the first time in years i neither received treats or delivered tricks on all hallows eve. instead i'm jsut working all the time. it's ok i guess. i was teh reclining buddha in bangkok on saturday, it's now monday evening, and i have already accredited 80+ hours for this pay period. the buddha was amazing. huge. the only way i could explain the sheer mass of the thing would be by comparing its weight in units of measurement being elephants. the head weighs three elephants, the hand a baby elephant. i mean the thing was huge. i also saw the lucky buddha. a lesser know tourist attraction in bangkok. i didn't however, sleep with any prostitutes. apparently a must do when visiting the city(obviously when the name of the city is loaded with bawdry innuendo). thailand is great and the people are better. the crew i work with stop at nothing to make every moment here the best they can. today i was asking about a tradition of wearing a buddha image around one's neck for luck, i inquired about the price, fully intent on purchasing one, and a guy just gave me one. it was amazing. i think they had an extra one in the office, but still he just gave it to me with no hesitation. i can say no more. but cheere-o.
