Paper Sword and Armor

Apr 12, 2005 16:37

okay, i know it's not an at all geeky activity but as I was sitting in ethics I suddenly began to wonder if I could make myself a giant paper samurai hat out of the infinate ammount of newspaper which Mercer provides me. I had soon fashioned a most agreeable helmet and was admiring its beauty when another idea ocurred to me. Could I perhaps make a paper sword? I quickly did so and a functional sheath as well. Thus armed, I was off to patrol the halls and punish all the witches and evil knights who stood before me. Finding none, I decided to go pester Alex, who was not as impressed with the sheer awesomeness of my armor as I would have hoped. Still determined to be cool, I returned to my room where I began searching for more armor to make. I decided that a knight is only useful when his wrists are attached, and thus fashioned from old toiled paper tubes a nice set of bracers. The shield was fairly simple as well a newspaper folded as it could be into a kite with a coathanger giving it the necissary rigidity, being taped with my roomates duck tape, how helpful he can be at times. My armor thus completed I am ready to stand against the most wicked of foes! Pictures to come I hope.
