it's all restaurants' policies, at least chains like those, to wait before the entire party is there before seating. it's happened to me numerous times at numerous places. i agree that it sucks. they really could be making more money off drinks and appetizers cuz the people sitting at the table are not just gonna sit there like .................. with their thumbs up their asses. Also, the restaurant and the waitress are going to make a lot off of a large party, so it's in their best interest to please/ accomodate them as much as possible.
one thing that really baffles me at restaurants is how much waitors and waitresses generally neglect to ask for drink refills, in terms of alcohol. drinks are expensive! they should be on that every chance they get! not to mention it's gonna take a few minutes to get the drink from the bar, so one should ask for a refill in advance... like when it's one fourth empty. Whenever I drink at a table, i'm always left hanging. so i've started ordering water with my alcoholic beverage so that i'll have something in between.... even though there should not be an "in between."
another thing that bugs me is the "is everything ok?" run-by that lasts .07 seconds. how about you stop, ask me to my face, and wait for me to finish chewing so that I can tell you if I need something else?

haha april, you're dead on. i dont leave 20% for dinner if the server doesnt ask me if i want another beverage. i completely agree with the alcohol thing. they should definitely push that more.

and yes, eye contact is clutch. but you gotta balance it out. i want the male to look at me as equally as as hes looking at my gf. hell, look at me more...but if you look at her more...its over.
