Have you guys seen that SpeeDee oil change commercial where the woman has trouble starting her car, and the older male on a non sport bike approaches her? For some reason, it urked me...
so i wrote them a kind letter :)
To Whom It May Concern:
I write to you tonight with regards to your latest televion ad that I've seen multiple times. I believe it is great that you promote that car owners need to keep up with their oil changes.
However, I'm a bit dissapointed with how you presented the motorcyclist. Was that whole factor supposed to scare the woman having car trouble, into getting an oil change? Is your ad angle stating "stay on top of your oil changes or else older, Harley riding men, will approach you and try to pick you up?"
Have you thought that these motorcyclists (particularly non sport bike riders) may not be all that happy with how they are being portrayed? Granted, he didn't seem all that intimidating, but it seemed to me as if this is the underwritten message.
I am just curious; that's all. I look forward to hearing back from you.
