London Update #1

I've been finding myself getting completely wasted almost every night. Not blacked-out though, just wasted. I have had a couple of funny moments to make note of. The best one was I was on the bus, one of those double deckers at the top, and I was just sitting there. Or rather...falling asleep. Before I knew it, the bus slammed on the breaks, and I went lurching forward and hit my head on the seat in front of me. That woke me up!

I'm really worried about going out tonight, because I don't really know where the club that I'm going to IS. Which is kind of important. I just walked around, looking for it, and instead I found Zara, FCUK (which is divided into two different stores here - French Connection, and United Kingdom - probably because the French are hated universally here almost as much as the Irish) and ESpirit and some other European stores. I found myself spending £100 at FCUK+Zara...which is $200 back home. Ouch. I don't think I'll be doing that ever again. I like how Zara has a huge sign that says "For here today, gone tomorow fashions that you will most likely throw out a week from now" above the door. And everything is SO EXPENSIVE here in London!!! jeezus...I might not even eat for the next few days. Getting fat anyways...

I saw two things that made me laugh, and made me realize that Joon would DESPISE the sight of Europe these days. Last night, Graham and I discovered a church that was converted into a rowdy, party-driven pub! Open past 11:00 as well (when most pubs close) and stays open well until 2 am as far as we can tell!! Then, I just passed by a church/cafe/coffee-shop/wine bar, that is open 24 hours, along with a confession booth that recieves apparently frequent usage through out the wee early morning hours. Hilarious! The only reason why people can get away with converting churches like this is because of an old Midieval law that says you cannot remodel or buy the property of 1) buildings owned by the Ends of Court, 2) buildings owned by the Church, and 3) local pubs. But if you turn a church into a pub, then...well...it doesn't really matter that much. Hahahah.
