Dance like a chicken, foo

That subject line has absolutely no relevance or meaning.

Had a good weekend. Ed was feeling crappy Friday night (I gave him my cold, haha!) so I just stayed in and played games for the evening, went to bed at a decent time (gasp). Saturday was much more fun. We went out for lunch at Dixie Lee while heading over to the Card Rack to buy some cards, unfortunately he was sold out once again so Ed was the only one who got anything. Then my warlock proceeded to whip his hunter 3-1 before we changed activities. I watched him kil things with his pally. Well, not so much kill things, as watch them kill themselves. It was really quite entertaining. Then we got Greg, went to EB where I bought Starfox Command and Greg found a copy of Eternal Darkness for $10. Then it was over to that new Sucoma Grill place that replaced Keystone Kelly's. It's the same place with a different name. Anyway, had some prime rib thingy, not too expensive and it tasted pretty good - big too. From there it was back to my place to play Starfox Assault and Smash Bros. until 9:30, then we went off to see Casino Royale. Good movie, highly recommended in terms of Bond movies. Not nearly as cheesy as the last couple that have come out; it has much more class to it. Ended at 12:30, we all got home around 1 somewhere.

Sunday morning, got up, played some VP2, played some WoW, ate a cookie. Pretty solid day overall. Last night at around 11 I started up my next story, by 12:30 I didn't have all that much written but I definitely think it's off to a good start. It's going to follow the same general theme of my last one in terms of organization, but from a reader's standpoint you probably won't even notice. That's not the kind of thing you think about when you read a book, only when you write it :). I'm thinking this one is *probably* going to be even longer (longer than 14,000 words? Preposterous!) but I can't tell by how much. I guess it all depends on exactly how much space certain portions take up. I've got them planned in my head, but things don't always take up as much room when you write them down as when you think them up. Or sometimes they take up more; it's hard to tell, really.
At any rate, I'm really wishing I'd emailed it to myself before I left for work. All I have here is the first one, and aside from a few editing errors and typos it's pretty much where I want it; change a word here and there, maybe. I did my first non-stop read-through yesterday and caught several small things, but at this point I'd really like to move on to something else. After Reffy reads it and gets back to me with an English-major opinion, I'll probably stick it up on ff.net and be done with it. The whole point of writing the thing was to practice writing and get back into the swing of it, and I think that's been accomplished rather well.
Unfortunately, having finished the story, I am now tasked with coming up with a name for the damned thing. I've ALWAYS been HORRIBLE with story titles, I don't think I've ever come up with one I didn't hate. "Past Revelations" maybe? I don't know, it suits the story, but sounds incredibly cheesy. Gah, I hate this part...

No other plans for the week at all. I honestly have no idea what to do with myself. Guess I'll just work on that giant backlog of games I have waiting for me.

I have an incredible headache. I had it yesterday too, but it went away. Now it's back and I don't have any Advil or anything handy. Staring at LCDs is NOT good for a headache, I can tell you that right now. I can tell this afternoon is going to be as fun as a barrel full of Manganese Dioxide. Damn, that was random.
