Hmm, guess I didn't mention this?
I took my Fry's computer to .. Fry's .. to get it fixed. Something about a corrupt file in one of the system folders. If I had the resources (read: damned OS/system recovery disc) then I would've fixed it myself. Anyway, yeah, took it to Fry's to get it fixed.. and, well, they get it fixed! Of course, I was happy and couldn't wait to get home to see a fresh computer.
Thing is, they forgot to leave my other drive alone. Okay, it's not their fault; I thought they were just going to wipe out the first drive and leave my other one alone. Turns out I was wrong and the reformatted both drives. Now this made me extremely angry and I was almost saddened to tears (lots of important stuff..).
I wanted to give up, but I didn't want to lose all that important data on the other drive. So instead, I sought out Data Recovery ..umm.. firms? You know, people who'd come to my house and recover my data. Anyway, I was considering that option knowing full well that we would have to pay a hefty sum. Of course, being me, I had to look for another way of doing things so that hiring someone would be my last resort. Lo and behold, I find something!
Won't say which software, but I'll say that it would've cost me ~$90 to buy a license for it. Luckilly there are torrents for said software, and that made me even happier.
I run the program on the Fry's comp, and it works. IT WORKS!! Now I don't have to worry about losing data on any of my computers thanks to this itty bit of software. For that, I am relieved. :D
On another note, I hate springing forward one hour. It just ruined my biological clock last night; I slept at 5am. :(
And I should get going to bed right now too. =.=
