Salut, mes amies, je suis retournée de France! In other words, I'm back! (If you already haven't noticed XD)
I'll try to get in some pics too, when they get developed (because my digital camera sucked ass and I used disposables instead. XP)
Anyway, things went great. I went to university in Angers, France, and there's nothing like a class in France to show you how terrible your French really is. X| All the classes were instructed exclusively in the French language and it was hard to follow along. Luckily, I have no shame and bugged my teacher and classmates endlessly about the instructions. :D (The words "Repetez, s'il vous plaît!" and "Qu'est-ce que c'est?" were my best friends in class XD) Anyways, we had projects and stuff, like that one where we had to interview French people about certain questions on a certain subject. Don't let it be said that French people are snooty because the people I interviewed were more than happy to help me out on my grammar and such (after laughing at me, of course).
But really, France was beautiful. Old buildings, magnificent gardens, cafés, and ubiquitous bakeries and pastry shops. The French really do have a sweet tooth, I discovered. It drove me insane. I missed all the salty, greasy foods back home. XD It was quite a relief when I took a detour to Yorkshire and Frankfurt. :D Yeah, I visited an internet friend at York, England, and he showed me around, and gave me a REAL BRITISH BREAKFAST. THAT MEANT MEAT, EGGS, BEANS, TOMATOES, THE WORKS. I COULD HAVE CRIED. AFTER EATING SWEET TARTINES AND SHIT FOR BREAKFAST I WAS GOING TO KILL SOMETHING IF I DIDN'T GET A DECENT BREAKFAST. XDDD Yeah you can tell I love my food. The German breakfast was just as good. And furthermore, in Frankfurt, they had this porn shop that had toys and slutty clothes...
FOR MEN.
I wanted to make Frankfurt my second home.
Oh, and in Paris, they had male mannequins that had nipples.
Man nipples.
I loved it. And furthermore, the jackets for men had glitter and other gay sparklies on it. I almost threw a happy fit.
In short, Europe was a blast. It held new experiences and great opportunities and I think I did learn a lot, though I know I still have a lot to go. I think the most important thing I learned was how much to appreciate what I have at home. I missed everyone so much, and got hit by the homesickness big time, even when I did have fun.
Yeah, I'm glad that I had the chance to go, despite the scorching weather, getting hit on by desperate middle-aged Frenchmen, and getting left behind in excursions. Even that was fun, come to think of it. Oh yeah, and I think I'm going to have my ass kicked by a battery of bills soon. (Europe, especially England, will rob you naked). Maybe not so fun. XDDD
Any case... It's good to see you all again. ^_____________^ <3
Pimping new mood icons and LJ layout too with this annoucement (even if I did steal an idea or two off
artistjosie XD). Anyways, off to get ready for my "surprise" party. XDDD I just turned 21 a few days ago, and now it's time to drink!!! >D Gamble too, if I'm lucky. Bonne journée, tout le monde!
