First up was an envelope from my Mum, containing my brother's graduation program and photograph! I won't put the photo up on the internet, but suffice it to say that he looks really lovely and handsome. Awww!
Second was a parcel, also from Mum. At first, I thought it was my
vegansecretswap parcel, but nope, it was another from Mum! This one contained British tea (I think Mum worries about my caffeine consumption, bless her!) and Fry's creams. I just ate one with a cup of tea for my mid-afternoon snack, shared with Trey, who is off sick from work so we're hanging out. Yeah!
Thirdly (yes, I got three parcels!) was a large parcel from Ingrid. It was full of win:
That's:
* Two postcards, soon to go on my wall,
* Two pairs of polka dot girl boxers from Topshop in awesome colours! This is ace, because I'm in desperate need of new underwear. Ha!
* Two packs of Prawn Cocktail crisps, my favourites <3
* Gluten free chocolate cookie, sweetened with fruit juices!
* Two Judy Blume books - I'd never heard of these, but I love kids books, and these seem to cover some interesting topic considering the target audience.
* Fry's creams, always winners.
* Love Hearts! I'm excited to show the British version to Garrett, we've joked about these for a while!
* WHITE CHOCOLATE BUTTONS OF DREAMS
* Mr Tom bar! Peanuts + sugar = get in my tummy.
* Yarn! This stuff is super soft and made from corn fibre. I've been getting back into knitting recently, so I'm excited to find a project for this!
* Lush goodies: The Big Tease hair product (for my newly brushable hair!) and the most obscenely delicious lip scrub ever called Mint Julips. It's peppermint and chocolate flavoured and the exfoliator is just plain sugar. It smells fucking delicious, and I love it already.
* Zines! Just Say No Thank You, Call If You Need Me, and Brain Eater. Ace!
* A cute little notebook from Muji. Ingrid said she liked them because "they are like blank canvases", and I couldn't agree more! Sometimes, simple is best.
* Finally, a lovely letter. I love when parcels contain letters!
And cute stars at the bottom!
As soon as I saw them, I knew what I was having for breakfast.
I had been craving more white chocolate buttons for a while, and immediately I heated up the oven. I knew exactly what I wanted: PB oatmeal cookies with white chocolate. I added dark chocolate chips to bulk it up a bit, and they came out extremely well. I couldn't wait for them to be cooked, though...
Mmm! The recipe is one of my all time favourites from Vegan With A Vengeance, and I'd highly recommend you make these. I also got a great deal of pleasure in realising that some of the cookies had accidental smiley faces in them, and this one sums up my day so far:
