It has been a busy week. Some friends of friends were in town, and they decided they wanted me to make them cupcakes for lunch each day. So I did! Here are some photos of the different flavours I came up with. It was a great opportunity to focus on one particular type of baked good, and see how far I could take it. I feel quite proud of myself!
Basic double vanilla.
Chocolate peanut butter.
Chocolate cupcake filled with vanilla frosting (no inside shots, I'm afraid!), topped with ganache.
Chai latte cupcakes: chai cake with vanilla ("milk") frosting.
Mocha cupcakes: Chocolate coffee cupcakes with vanilla ("milk") frosting.
At Voluto, with the inspiration for the latte art topping:
Cookies and cream cupcakes: Vanilla cupcake with vanilla and Newman-O frosting. (Newman O's are "healthier" Oreos, with no high fructose corn syrup.)
Butterfinger / Chick-o-Stick cupcakes: Chocolate base, PB frosting with crushed Chick-o-Sticks, ganache and a whole Chick-o-Stick. They remind me of bumble bees!
Choc-cherry cream: Chocolate cupcake, filled with cherry preserves and vanilla buttercream, topped with a whole cherry. Roll on summer when I can used the non-frozen kind!
German Chocolate: Chocolate cupcake with coconut and pecan topping and ganache.
And finally, here's one order out on display.
There are also quite a few more photos, but they're on a different camera, so I'll post them later. Today, I rest!
