Shadowrun, Jobs and Cam

Nov 05, 2003 12:29

Finally on Sunday I got to play my Shadowrun character that i created about 4 years ago, most chuft, even if one of the PC's has already managed to screw over my character. Well at least it's going to make life interesting that and Oz's RPing of my familiar.

Monday was spent travelling to and from Ayr for an "Open Day" at Ayr Hospital where I've applied for a couple of jobs. THe hospital itself seems nice, smaller then Ninewells, and the pace of life a bit less frantic. All the applicants, at least fifty, for 36 posts, were there along with the Consultants who you'd be working for. So the aim over lunch was to talk to the Consultants and impress them so that they'll rank you high on their list of candidates who they want to give a job to. I managed to speak to a few of them, whether it was enough I'm not sure. I've to phone back next week about my surgery job to find out how i've been ranked.....

Tuesday was spent travelling to Glasgow at least this time by train for a formal interview with the VAscular Surgeons in Gartnavel Hospital. First off the train was late, then i found that the map of glasgow i had was crap, but i eventually got the bus to take me to the hospital. Of course it was Glasgow so it had to rain. But i made it ten minutes early only to find the candidate to be interviewed after me already there. Eventually about half an hour late one of the interviewers arrives, the main consultant being held up somewhere. His name is Mr Rodgers and he seems to have no clue about what is going on. I'm the first candidate to be interviewed, i'm not sure if that's good or bad. He calls me into his office, still strewn with papers everywhere and asks me to take a seat. WE talk for about ten minutes. As far as I know I will hear from them by e-mail how they've ranked me, i guess after they,ve interviewed all the candidates, about 40 for 8 jobs... This is the job i really want so I'll just have to wait and see..

On the plus side I got back to Dundee in time for the Cam game. It was great to finally be playing again, despite being told go speak to the visiting elders and ending up primogen eek.. Well we'll see how things go and i meight even be able to make the Perth game thsi month, finally, i've only been promising Gav that i'd go for about 2 years.

Well i'd best go get ready for my dental appointment at the dental hospital and find out what they are actually going to do about my wisdom tooth...

On the plus side though, Revolutions is out today and its fireworks night...
Must try and get to a display tonight, pretty colours..
