I feel like it is time for a college update...
So I don't keep everyone that up to date with everything so here we go.
College is amazing! I loooove the people here, it is fantastic and some of my classes are pretty good. As a whole I'm not to crazy about architecture but there are individual parts that I think are really cool and interesting. I don't want to be an architect, I know it for a fact...but I don't know what I do want to do at all. My plan right now is to stay in architecture till I figure out where I want to transfer to. I don't want to leave Carnegie Mellon though! I love this school! The people here are amazing and the environment is great.
Being in a different city helps you appreciate your home so much more. For midsemester break I came home and as I was driving through Manhattan with my Dad and Drew I saw the Triboro bridge and I got all choked up and nearly broke out into tears becasue I was so happy! I got to go to Bronx Science and see everyone, including Ben who conveniently dropped by the same day! However, since when are we not allowed to visit? I didnt go to get a visitors pass so I didn't know but apparantly Ben had to fight with Reidy over it. We nearly got kicked out but then again it was 9th period haha! I can't wait for homecoming when we actaulyl are allowed to visit! I saw the Corsairs at the Knitting Factory...that was tons of fun! Afterwards we went to Matt's apartment and partied all night! It was goddamn awesome! I had a blast! I loved seeing my family as well! I missed them so much! In fact parents weekend was this weekend so my parents and my sis came to visit! I twas sooo much fun!
So back to college...I'm gettting involved in Scotch 'N Soda Theater on campus! Its great! I've auditioned for two shows and not gotten parts but I am instead the Master Carpenter of this show! I'm really excited! I had to make up my budget and submit it Friday night and last night they gave us the final budgets so I'm all set and ready to go! I lvoe set building! I just need to get started on it now...make a schedule and such!
I want to propose a script for the next show. I've really been thinking about it and I want to do "The Musical Comedy Murders of 1940" here. If they like a script we'll have to find a director but if all else fails then I'll direct. I would like to perform however! I really would like to play Eddie or Ken De La Maize! But my worry is that I won't get a part and won't be directing and I'll be screwed! I mean there is tons I can do but I've already done tech for that show and I wanna try another side of it. We'll see!
I'm moving! Right now I'm living in an off-campus apartment, a really really nice one in fact, but the problem is that it is so far away! I was going to just deal with it, but it turns out my friend lives in a suite in Resnik(one of the nicest dorms on campus) and two of his suitemates are moving out next semester. So he offered our friend Alex and me the spots in the suite and we are taking them. I will most likely be living in the single, woo! Its gonna be fun! It's right on campus and really close to the Architecture building! I think this will be good for me! Also saves me from cold walks in the winter!
So yea thats about it! I'm going to get back to work! I'm in Studio right now, but I haven't been up all night! I slept in the Margaret Morrison 3rd floor lounge for about 5 hours so I feel pretty good! Alrighty that is all...I will be home in 2 1/2 weeks, come visit me at college, come see"No Way to Treat a Lady" and marvel over its wonderful set(and the awesomeness of the show as well!), and peace out!
