I pre-ordered mine about 3 weeks ago, and I actually had it shipped to me on Monday, although I didn't know it. I picked it up yesterday, and it is awesome. It probably would be more cool to me if I hadn't been such a huge Palm Treo fan up to now. It will take some getting used to.
I am a Google stockholder, so I figured "why not"? It's Google's answer to the iPhone. It doesn't yet because it's too new (BRAND NEW operating system called Android with a limited amount of apps for now), but this will give Apple a run for it's money. I'm curious to see how Verizon's Blackberry Storm measures up.
I'm keeping the battle-worn Treo 600 for the duration as my second phone, I plan to replace it with the new Treo Pro. I've just too much invested in the Treo OS for me to abandon it entirely. Plus, it's going to take me awhile to input info into the G1, and the G1 doesn't have a digital finance program...yet.
The Internet works well, it's the full experience, minus Flash (it can't see Flash for now, we're hoping that changes in a future update). YouTube looks so much BETTER than viewing online my laptop. 3G or Wi-Fi speeds up the experience a whole lot, when you have access (any Borders or Starbucks, for example).
I'm happy with it.
