Your favorite books

I know since I almost never write here, I probably will not get a lot of responses for that reason. Anyway, now since I am a new kindle owner, I am soliciting your opinions on your favorite books.
Since having kids, I found that I would rather read in the evenings than watch TV. I am just so tiered of noise and sound by the end of the day. And having a book delivered to you in a matter of minutes sounds like a good plan, especially at the end of the day.
Any ideas are very welcome
