Me & My Girl

I've had some very kind offers from a few different friends for Lucia and I to come and visit, but we're going to stay home for awhile. She does indeed have a a bit of a cold, enough that I don't want to take her out or let her do too much that's energetic. Lauren made some special tea for her that's supposed to help, and some for me that's supposed to help me not get the cold.

This will be the first time Lucia and I will celebrate Thanksgiving alone, just the two of us. I think it will be fun. I've already got provisions for the weekend, most of ordered from a deli so that we don't have to cook too much. We will be making yams with gazillions of tiny marshmallows on top, and I got a huge turkey so that we can have sandwiches (with jellied cranberry sauce, the kind we both love) almost till Christmas, and I'll teach her how to make soup from the bones. Thank goodness Ted had an extra big fridge put into this apartment! I think it's going to be a nice quiet weekend with lots of reading, lots of photography (including image manipulation), lots of tea and snuggling.

I wrote a whole lot of stuff just for myself earlier tonight after a long talk with Stephen. A lot of things that I needed to sort out. It's funny how writing does that, both the process and then seeing the words. I defintely have my work cut out for me in making the changes I want to make in myself. The symbology of Thanksgiving this weekend and my 30th birthday right around the corner isn't lost on me. I've got some of the most wonderful, supportive, caring friends and family in the world, and they can help me through anything.
