CHARACTER

Name: Fran
Age: No canon age (probably between the ages of 17-22) Going for 22.
Canon: Katekyo Hitman Reborn!
History: Follow the link to the wikia!
Personality: To be quite frank, the main thing that distinguishes Fran from being just one of those guys in the background is the perpetual deadpan. Either just on his face or in his apathetic personality, he feels it through and through. There are few he actually cares about-other than yours truly-and besides, he’s only in life for the ride. Now, that doesn’t mean he doesn’t like provoking a bit of a bump or two in the tracks. He’s actually extremely antagonistic, to the point where he’ll put himself in direct danger just because he wants to provoke a reaction. He’s got a pretty high pain tolerance though, so the whole danger/stabbing thing he gets himself into isn’t too bad for him. Plus, he’s really paranoid, so he’s likely to dodge about, even if you aren’t going to attack.

That said; to be around Fran for more than a little bit, you need a thick skin. He likes tearing into people’s flaws, proving others wrong. In fact, he’ll make a point to banter about it for a long time and make sure to point out two or three other issues in the same conversation. If you try to do the same to him, however, he’ll deflect the blows, simply because he doesn’t care about what others think about him. As long as he himself can still think of himself as cool (which usually includes him being a ‘hero’), he’s definitely good.

He may have a bit of a soft spot for some girls, but just ones who don’t seem like they can protect themselves. He can’t help it, it appeals to his hero senses.

IN GAME

Brief In-Game History: The son of a wealthy family in England, Fran had exactly everything he could ever want-and he was completely bored out of his mind. Things went just fine for him, of course; he would wake up every morning, go to school, came home, try to find something to keep his attention, go to bed and then repeated the process. His parents would try to keep him entertained, but really, the only thing that kept his attention was the growing game industry and internet, and it wasn’t really a surprise when he started to withdraw from the outside world. His parents split up when he was still in primary school and he lost contact with his father, which only helped him along in becoming more cynical and antagonistic. Not that it was all that unusual for parents to split up, but he still felt entitled to this. And, eventually, his mother gave up trying to involve him with others. At least he got excellent grades, when he tried. Things continued on like this for a long time, at least until he started getting weird dreams almost every night.

The source was Mukuro Rokudo.

Through these dreams, he offered Fran more excitement than he had in ages by promising him a position as his apprentice. Mukuro said he would teach him illusionary skills and without hesitation-well, okay, without much hesitation-Fran accepted. He would claim that it was because it was simply to get rid of the dreams, but truthfully, it was because of how interesting it seemed. Still, no matter how difficult of a person Fran was, within a matter of years after he moved to Italy to be with the rest of Mukuro’s team, he became very skilled at the art of illusion. Sure, Mukuro used similar techniques to teach him as the Mendolia family did, but Fran didn’t mind the whole preforare thing. However, that wasn’t the end of it.

Though he worked for and with Mukuro quite plainly, Fran was recruited by Mammon into the La Guardia family. The other illusionist wanted him because of his intelligence and potential, and Fran thought it would be a good use of his time-after all, Mukuro didn’t really have that much time or energy for him, and his life had taken a turn for the boring. As it was, he was supposed to be a useful subordinate and nothing more to Mammon, but it didn’t take him long to get a hang of the skill he was being taught. Blackmail and extortion, though they weren’t hero-like, were pretty useful. And it soon became obvious that they were at about the same level. Thus started the competition between the two of them for the most respected keeper of information.

Type of Bullets: Ministro and Scortesia

Abilities gained from bullets: With both the Ministro and Scortesia bullets, Fran has gained the ability to create illusions. He can trick people into seeing and feeling and understanding what he wants them to. Most of this is by the Ministro bullet, as he uses it primarily in defense of himself or in order to hide so he can pick up information in dangerous spots, but the Scortesia helps with more offensive types of illusions-of course, those skills aren’t used nearly as much.
