Personality: [At least 350 words] To be quite frank, the main thing that distinguishes Fran from being just one of those gamer guy constants is the perpetual deadpan. No, really. It’s rare that he’ll ever smile, and most of the time, his complaints and tears are crocodile ones. Even when Belphegor, his partner in the Varia, literally embeds at least four knives in his back, he fakes the tears with illusions-or at least, shows no inflection in his voice that yes, this does hurt. Whether the deadpan is just on his face or in his apathetic personality, he truly feels it through and through. And, let’s face it, there are very few he actually cares about-other than yours truly. He has some respect for Xanxus and some for Mukuro, but that’s just because they’re strong. If one of them were to depend upon his good word to survive, they probably wouldn’t make it out alive.
Besides, Fran is kind of an outsider-he’s really only in life for the ride. Now, that doesn’t mean he doesn’t like provoking a bit of a bump or two in the tracks. He’s actually extremely antagonistic, though he likes pushing the envelope into the point where he’ll put himself in direct danger just because he wants to provoke a reaction out of someone. He’s got a pretty high pain tolerance though, so the whole danger/stabbing thing he gets himself into isn’t always a big deal for him. Especially because he’s really paranoid so he’s likely to dodge about, even if you aren’t going to go ahead and attack him. Part of this is just the way illusionists are-you know, better safe than sorry and all of that-but the fact he’s constantly provoking people certainly doesn’t help this. To be honest, this sort of clashes with what his ideal for himself is, though. Fran sees himself as a hero
That said; to be around Fran for more than a little bit, you need a thick skin. He likes tearing into people’s flaws, proving others wrong. In fact, he’ll make a point to banter about it for a long time and make sure to point out two or three other issues in the same conversation. If you try to do the same to him, however, he’ll deflect the blows, simply because he doesn’t care about what others think about him. As long as he himself can still think of himself as cool (which usually includes him being a ‘hero’), he’s definitely good.
He may have a bit of a soft spot for some girls, but just ones who don’t seem like they can protect themselves. He can’t help it, it appeals to his hero senses.
