"Two things. I need 5 bottles of high proof liquid, preferably 180 proof or higher for an experiment. That and I'm told bar tenders are the poor man's psychologist and I need to get into the adult mindset on something."

"Why is it that adults seem more concerned with power than their memories? I've had two people try and tell me that the post office thing wasn't a horrible idea and it confuses me."

[She pays for the 5 bottles and actually tips well]

"Two people all ready. And I told them about it. I said it was a bad idea, but... Well, do I start NOT telling people when they ask?"

[She just sighs, and looks a little sad as opposed to deadpan, not seeming to be disturbed by that face, she's just hoping its disgust]

...Depends on the situation. Some people might need their power more than they need certain memories.

"Still, aren't they a definition of what makes you you? And in being you you have learned to control those powers? I kind of see it as giving up control and that is kind of scary."

You can lose memories and still know how to control your powers. Nobody said they had to be directly related.

"Yes, but you may loose context. Or forget experiences that let you use your powers in ways that aren't dangerous to others. There is a difference between knowing how to do something and knowing when. The experiences are more of the when."

Fair point, but either way. If the situation gets bad enough, somebody might need that power no matter what the cost is.

"True, but you become more of a drone, and its much harder to recover from that. Do you really want to give the people in charge here more control over you?"

Of course not. But I'd also want the power to fight when the situation called for it.

...Not as well as I should be. I'm practically harmless compared to most of the others from back home.
