Title: Patchwork Heroes -prologue
Author:  RiaStarStruck (me!)
Rating: R
Pairing: VAM
Summary:  They were two regular teenagers for the most part, but when they meet each other they have to start dealing with the demons that lurk in their shadows, and each others while discovering love along the way.
Disclaimer: I don’t own anything connected to HIM, Ville Valo, or Bam Margera except some DVDs and CDs. I don’t mean to offend anyone by this, it’s written purely for my own entertainment.
Warnings: abuse, Ref to child abuse, violence, angst.
Authors Notes: okay, that is the worlds worst summery pretty much EVER. This is a complete AU, they are both teenagers and are dealing with their own kinds of abuse and the things that have been haunting them for a while. This was originally going to be about Ville’s abuse from his father, but Bam kind of... took over...as he does. This story has been long coming, it kind of has invaded my entire life.... lol it’s consumed my world disturbingly for a while. I do have most of it written so it should be updated frequently and won’t be left for dead.

Prologue

The music was on repeat playing over and over through his headphones so loud it hurt his ears as he tried in vain to drown out the screaming from down stairs that travelled through the locked bedroom door as though it was paper thin. The shouts and crashes echoed around the house and he resisted the urge to clamp his hands over his ears along with the headphones, he stared at the wall opposite , traced the lines of the band faces in a meditative way, over and over until every line of each face was imprinted in his mind. He didn’t notice when one song shifted to another or when the faces became hard to see as the sun set and darkness descended, or that his huddled figure rocked in a steady rhythm and that he pulled his legs closer to his chest with each crash he pretended he couldn’t hear in an instinctive move to protect his already battered chest.
It could have been hours later when his ears hurt from the loud noise, which now seemed too loud, too jarring in the silence of the house, and he slowly uncurled his body and moving silently to the door of his room, down the stairs and into the lounge where he sank soundlessly down beside the broken figure of his mother.
As she looked up at him, he saw the love she felt for him, which instinctively made her do this to herself slowly morphing into bitterness and resentment. He didn’t flinch when he heard the sound of heavy steps at the lounge room door. He should know better by now then to check on her so soon. He met his mothers’ eyes and the love was back, he closed his own so he wouldn’t have to see the matching green as he heard the click of a heavy leather belt being taken off. In his mind he pulled his hands closer to his ears and traced with precision the lines of Black Sabbaths’ faces. He never even felt the belt make contact with fragile, pale skin.
