i had the best day!
i taught my first class!
my first class--a bunch of juvenile delinquents.
it's for a program that serves as an alternative to first time juvenile offenders to going to court.
i taught them communication skills.
it was great! the best part was i was never bored.
i think it would have been better if they actually wanted to learn.
i had the teens.

the teens come with their parents and learn about communication skills.
the parents are usually pretty responsive while the teens could care less.
i was only going to observe, but the person who was going to facilitate couldn't do it, so adrienne asked/told me to do it. she walked me through it. we were at the office until 11 last night (NEVER AGAIN).
i was so nervous, since we never got a chance to run through it. i was doing it all for the first time and it was great. they liked my ice breaker stuff and it went well.
i did my intro then asked if they had any questions and one of the girls said, "Are you nervous?"
i said, "yea! i'm freakin out! this is my first time."
she said, "oh, because you're shaking."
but after that i relaxed a little and did it.
there were some parts that could be better but it was much better than the one mara did.
i kicked mara's ass!
so, no more whining about 10 minute presentations! i was up there for an hour!
considering i'd never done it before and we didn't make any final decisions until 11 last night, i think it went well...
so is this what i want to do with my life?
umm, no, i don't think so. well, it's not all of it.
it's part of it i guess, but not everything.
anyway, i can't tell you how it feels to actually have some bonafide experience.
