Northward, ho!

Taking the long way back to Northern, thanks to plans A and B failing within 20 minutes of each other on Monday. It's amazing; I never thought an 8.5 hour trip could become an overnight odyssey requiring trains and coaches with absurd layovers. It's nice to try a new way of getting somewhere, though; I quite enjoy trains...save for the often sour Amtrak staff.

In ten hours, I'll be back in town and ready for a new semestre. I hope it goes as well as this past one did academically.

In other news, I played the XIII-2 demo yesterday afternoon. I took a few notes regarding my opinions of the changes and new characters...and promptly left them all on my desk downstate (or back in Michigan, given that I'm in Wisconsin currently!)
Essentially:
The new additions to the battle system are OK, but I can't say I'm a fast fan of the monster-catching deal or the new Crystarium functions.  I'm interested in Serah's story, though I can't say the same for this Noel guy. More Lightning would also be very much appreciated.
Really, XIII-2 reminds me a lot of X-2, which is fine enough.

games, ffxiii, simply put, essential reality
