Still Here, Everyone

Has it really been nigh on five months since I last posted anything here?
Well, rest assured that precious little has happened to me these last few months.

Points of interest? )

simply put, essential reality

Oh, you have unleashed a monster; initiating text wall function. >=D

Lightning has been my favourite character since the game was announced way back when in 2006. Coincidentally, as far as I can remember, she has never not been my party leader when I could help it.
I really like Sazh, too. Really, I think he's one of the most, if not the most, realistic character.
And Fang. I just really like her; she's the right kind of snarky, in that I nearly didn't like her for it, but later it becomes endearing and fitting.

I have a lot of trouble remembering scenes and stuff because I've been playing this game since the day it was released. But, I still recall the Palumpolum food-place scene with fal'Cie Carbuncle, and how that really set the seriousness of the game with me; that, the mob in Palumpolum that essentially label our l'Cie as terrorists, Yaag's death, and the opening when you realise everyone from Bodhum is /dead/ all make me wonder why people entertained the idea of a 'childish' story. Whatever.

I was sort of disappointed when you didn't spend much time in the Sunleth Waterscape; it was pretty, and the music was very nice. Same with Bodhum.
I liked the look of Oerba a fair bit, too, but I hated having to keep fighting all of everything there to beat Barthandelus.
I went back to the Archllyte Steppes before going on, and remembered how interesting it was to look up at the tiny little moon that is Cocoon.

Relationships, eh?
In regards to those of the non-romantic sort, Lightning and Serah's relationship came off as striking to me.
Lightning's relationships with others in general is interesting to me, really; not sure why that is, though.
I wish we saw more Amodar, though; Amodar is the only character we see her relax a mite around. Even so close to the end, she still throws her weight on her personal wall, crumbling as it is.

I could go on and on..

Hooray for text walls!

You know? I'll have to agree with you about Sazh, he's the most realistic of the main characters, in my opinion. He was the only one who was never over the top, even when he tried to commit suicide.

I loved the music in Sunleth, it was amazing.

And, yeah, I don't get why people think the story is childish. Seriously? They took the "My Life Sucks" Award from the FFX characters, which I thought was impossible. Seriously, the overall plot is so dark. Destroy the world or suffer. I mean, if that's childish and happy-fun-sunshine-land... Jeez...

As far as Lightning goes, yeah, she really is a fascinating character. And she reacts differently to each person (seriously, the scene with Amodar was the only time she relaxed, even when she got... softer? kinder? towards the ending of the game, she kept her awkwardness with everyone). I really enjoyed watching her grow, how she accepted or didn't accept each person throughout the game.

And, you know, it kinda helped that she was downright badass, without being unapproachable as a character.

Yeah, XIII is definitely a game that can be discussed at length, and still hardly scratch the surface of it. ^^

You don't happen to have an Instant Messenger Service, do you?
I wouldn't mind discussing XIII at length with another similar-minded person, if it isn't an inconvienence to you.

You know, the only thing I really use is my gmail chat. If that would work for you, I'd totally be up for it. XIII is ridiculous amounts of fun to discuss.

(New computer, haven't gotten IM yet >.< Should probably get around to that, huh?)
