More Things
My upcoming year is looking brighter.
I received my grades today, and I'm pleased to say they're sufficient enough to allow myself to enroll in junior ROTC; how all of that will play out is a different story, though. I can't help but smile a bit at the fact that this time last year, I 'd probably be enraged at my GPA dropping at all, especially to the level it is now; perhaps the lack of this comes from knowing how hard I tried to keep it from plummeting further?
Also somewhat newsworthy is my happiness at being able to read cyrillic without too much error, albeit slowly; my spelling and vocabulary remain terrible, however. But I can count to five and introduce myself in Russian, so there is minute progress.
I'm considering entering a couple of writing contests if I can scare up the money to register, these being the "Writer's Digest Pop Fiction Award" and the YoungArts short story competition. Anyone know much about them outside of their web content?
If I can find the means to do either, that is.
