Veronica Mars rewatch
So I've spent the last few weeks re-watching Veronica Mars... few of us watched the pilot together a couple of weeks ago (them for the first time ever, me for the first time in ages) in preparation for the soon-to-come movie. Then I just kinda kept going (especially last week when my neck hurt so much I couldn't do anything except sit with my neck straight and watch TV). I'm mid season 2 now. Forgot how much I enjoyed the show and the characters, and also realized that I have just plain forgotten a LOT. Like, I remembered who killed Lilly and who was responsible for the bus crash. That's... umm about it. Things come back to me as they happen, and some things I can't believe I forgot. But it's been 6 years and I haven't rewatched it at all since. I'm rediscovering my love for LoVe, too - I mean I always shipped them, but never really read fic back in the day. Read some Logan/Weevil fic as I recall, and some Logan/Weevil/Veronica fic because hot. But I don't think I actually read any LoVe fic - just enjoyed them in canon. Right now? I'm reading a ton of it lol. And so very much hoping for a happy ending for them in the movie. We've waited long enough, dammit, don't we deserve it? :)
But yeah, now that I'm watching it I'm getting more and more excited for the movie. I was already looking forward to it (gave my $50 to back it and all), but in a vague sense mostly. Now that I'm remembering the characters and storyline I'm getting more excited about what will actually happen. Looking forward to seeing where the characters are however-many years later it's supposed to be. And watching with relief as the last few major cast announcements came in last week (I hadn't realized that Francis Capra and Tina Marjorino hadn't signed on yet!! but now they have so yay. And Ryan Hansen announced he is signed on in a truly ridiculous and awesome video that everyone must watch.)
(also I'd forgotten how many Joss alumni are in this show... I mean aside from Joss himself in that one ep, lol. But I'd fogotten about Alyson and Charisma! They had a scene together in the ep I just watched. Way too much fun to see them being super bitchy at each other...)
Speaking of Joss alumni - I watched Man of Steel last night. Featuring a bunch of random actors I didn't expect, like Tahmoh Penikett and Harry Lennix. Seriously it was like a Dollhouse reunion, wtf. Also Chris Meloni, who a part of me still loves thanks to OZ. ;) The movie itself? Ehhhh. It was pretty entertaining, on the whole. I liked the slightly more gritty and down-to-earth (so to speak) portrayal of the character. Could have used a lot more character development, though, and a lot less destroying of Metropolis. Seriously holy shit that will take a long time to rebuild. It was just getting ridiculous after awhile; like, how many buildings can they destroy??
Now I'm listening to my old Logan/Veronica fanmix and looking for a good icon. I can get a bit obsessive looking for the icon I want... even when I don't know what that is. Here, have this one by darkpalace. It's pretty. :)
Off to watch Teen Wolf now...
