I have started to work once more on Honest John, really. I even passed up a chance to perhaps make a $100 in order to work on the book. the urge set in Saturday evening.
I realized that certain scenes seemed wrong somehow because of the order, so I re-arranged them. I could get away with Honest John's sourness if I could alternate them with scenes of him coming off as charming. I took out a digression and flashback and made it into its own section. (the digression had started off as its own section originally. ) I managed to introduce Lilly as a character before she meets Honest John, which makes it more natural when they meet later.
in a few minutes I will write a scene with a deliberately boring character. I wrote this part in my head today. inspired by the scene from The Singing Detective where the guy won't stop talking to Marlowe in his bed. I will also get in incorporate some of my folklore facts into the scene. a superstition said that if you putting an afflicted person through the legs of a brindle horse would heal them. so people would make money traveling with a brindle hose from town to town and charging money for the privelige.
